Over the past century, plastics have become incredibly efficient vessels for keeping food fresh. So that was our starting place – finding alternative packaging that would look and feel similar and provide a comparable shelf life to plastic bags. Yet it had to have as little impact on the planet as possible at the beginning and end stages of life.
Certified compostable.
Presently, we are Industrial Compostable Certified – that means when our bags are composted in municipal and commercial compost facilities, they decompose in 90-180 days. That’s way better than never. Our goal is for our packaging to be household-green-binable (we just made that word up).
