What if we told you that you'd be healthier if you ate veal? Doesn't that sound incredible? Especially now that we're being told to eat less red meat, which is apparently carcinogenic.
Advantages of milk-fed veal:
Rich in nutrients: Milk-fed veal (and veal in general) contains a wealth of nutrients, including vitamins essential to the proper functioning of the human body and immune system.
Tender: Milk makes veal more tender. And nutrition aside, milk-fed calves are normally raised for shorter periods than grain-fed calves, around 5 to 8 weeks less. This gives grain-fed calves more time to form muscle tissue, and deprives them of greater tenderness.
Veal is a lean, versatile meat and an excellent source of vitamins B2, B3, B6 and B12, as well as minerals such as selenium, iron, phosphorus and copper.
Our calves are initially fed exclusively on cow's milk, then switch to a hay and grain-based diet. Raised without hormones or antibiotics, our calves are tender and tasty.
