Description
The aromas of the boletus are reminiscent of cooked meat, with a slight woody note. Its firm texture will be wonderful in an omelet, a risotto or in a sauce with pepper.
It is the most common cep in Quebec. This specimen can grow up to 30 cm high, with a cap of 6 to 20 cm smooth or slimy yellowish brown to reddish brown. Its foot is full, and crossed by a network of whitish lines. It is found especially under fir trees and in spruce plantations. The fresh boletus is generally clean enough that a little cleaning and cutting off the base of the foot is all that is needed before cooking it!
From dried to ready-to-eat mushrooms, Morille Québec offers a wide range of wild products from the boreal forest.
