It is the most common cep in Quebec. This specimen can grow up to 30 cm high, with a cap of 6 to 20 cm smooth or slimy yellowish brown to reddish brown. Its foot is full, and crossed by a network of whitish lines. It is found especially under fir trees and in spruce plantations. The fresh boletus is generally clean enough that a little cleaning and cutting off the base of the foot is all that is needed before cooking it!
